ABOUT MASON CASHMAN
Mason Cashman is a J.D. candidate at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law (Class of 2027), where he is also pursuing a Tax LLM and certificates in Legal Research, Intellectual Property Law, and Corporate & Commercial Law. He currently serves as a Student Attorney in the Community and Economic Development Clinic, providing legal services to entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and community organizations.Mason’s professional experience includes roles across sports law and compliance. As a Basketball Operations Extern at Siegel Sports and Entertainment, he conducts NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement and NCAA bylaw research, supports scouting and player evaluation, and assists with client recruitment efforts. Previously, as an NCAA Compliance Extern at the University of Wyoming, he researched NCAA legislation, created educational materials for student-athletes and coaches, and supported institutional compliance processes.At Denver Law, Mason is Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and Business Editor & Candidacy Editor of the Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. He has also represented his school in national negotiation competitions, including the Tulane Basketball and Football Negotiation Competitions, where he developed advanced skills in contract strategy and salary cap analysis.Mason earned his B.A. in Sports Business with a Certificate in Applied Business Data Analytics from Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business. He also completed the University of Oregon Summer Sports Law Institute, studying antitrust, collective bargaining, and athlete representation with leading instructors and practitioners, and attended the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity as part of a global study abroad program focused on sports marketing, sponsorship, and professional development.
