ABOUT MARZIEH ARAGHI

For as long as I can remember, I have always been extremely passionate about science. Since receiving my first science kit at five years of age the way things work and why has always been at the forefront of my mind. As I grew older, it was a natural progression to combine two passions of mine, my affection for lifelong learning and helping people into my chosen career of Epidemiologist. It is my goal to keep discovering new ideas to conduct effective research, which can provide insight into how a disease might wreak havoc, and in turn facilitate effective prevention and/or treatment. I was granted a PhD in Epidemiology from University of Birmingham. The process of obtaining a PhD helped provide me with a deep and meaningful understanding of how science is conducted and properly interpreted. I use these fundamental principles every day in my work. Specialities: Ability to analyse, summarise and interpret complex epidemiological data | Excellent oral and written communication skills | Strong IT skills in using statistical software packages such as STATA and R | Ability to work independently and take responsibility for my own work and time | Ability to work in an international team | Multi-tasking skills when managing a range of varied tasks, while keeping to agreed deadlines | Ability to produce written product for submission to a peer‐reviewed scientific journals.
