ABOUT MARYBETH GRAY

Healthcare costs are one of the top business expenses for employers. I know what the data says, and I know the system inside out: First from my years on the insurer side and now as an advocate working to help employers put healthcare within reach of every employee. The science and the business of healthcare are incredibly complex. And too much of this is by design, which is what motivated me to become a consultant. I like saving companies money, and I like using my knowledge to do so in ways that don’t just shift costs onto employees. What good does that do?Instead, my goal as Senior Vice President of Health & Welfare Consulting for Trion, a Marsh & McLennan Agency, is to work with organizations to get them cost-effective plans that help their sickest people get better with healthcare they can afford.I do this in three key ways:1. Alleviate the burden of benefits management that employers and HR departments face.2. Convert insights and analysis into actionable data that employers can take to save significant money while providing great benefits.3. Take on the administrative hardships of working with insurance companies on behalf of employers so they get the best terms and pricing for their employees. It’s a team effort. My clients know they can reach me anytime and we have a subject matter expert to help manage their healthcare program. A big part of that includes being experts not just on what’s happening today, but what’s coming next. My team and I have saved clients millions with an approach that not only breaks down current actions but helps employers understand what’s coming next. When I’m not reading up on the latest healthcare or pharma breakthrough, I spend as much time as possible on the water. I love sailing for the mind-body connection: In time, you get a feel for the hand at the helm. But there’s as much math and strategy to constantly evaluate, like wind speed, direction and positioning.Specialties: strategic planning | data analysis | employee benefits | executive leadershipApproved speaker for certification credits for continuing education with SHRM and HRCI
