ABOUT MARTHA TRIESCHMANN

As the communications manager for the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, I oversee a comprehensive communications program that supports cancer clinical services, a vast cancer research and clinical trials program, statewide community outreach and engagement, as well as foundation events and volunteer programs. With 20 years of communications and marketing experience, I tap into a diverse set of skills to make it all happen every day. I move quickly from one communications task to another (writing, editing, graphic design) to orchestrating a news conference or prepping a physician for a media interview. It\'s a juggling act and I do it well after years of running small marketing communications shops that forced me to roll my sleeves up and do it all. In this age of information overload, I advocate for high-impact, targeted communications that have clearly defined goals. I work well with open-minded people who aren\'t afraid to push for new ideas and approaches that help organizations move away from \"copycat\" communications (I\'m going to do this because everyone else does) to what really moves a business forward. Otherwise, it\'s all just noise, yo.
