Mark Vande HeyExecutive Director - Asset ManagementPrudential Real Estate Investors (PREI)Mr. Vande Hey joined PREI in 1996 and is head of its Chicago office. He has overall responsibility for the asset management of a national real estate portfolio totaling 22 million square feet with an estimated market value exceeding $4.8 billion. Property types include existing office, industrial, data center, and retail projects as well as large-scale infrastructure and vertical development. These transactions have been structured as wholly owned and joint ventures with private individuals and institutional investors. Expertise in the areas of third party brokerage and management company performance, leasing, valuations, acquisitions, and dispositions. Prior to joining Prudential, Mr. Vande Hey spent fifteen years in the areas of asset and portfolio management, real estate development and investment analysis. He was Vice President of Portfolio/Asset Management for The Balcor Company, a $4.4 billion real estate investment Company. During his five years there, his responsibilities included developing short and long term real estate investment strategies and for establishing underwriting standards and investment criteria as well as maintaining investment quality control.Mr. Vande Hey also spent over seven years as a manager of investment analysis for Homart Development Co, one of the nation’s leading office and retail developers. He was accountable to the company’s directors regarding large-scale commercial real estate acquisition and development opportunities and matters concerning corporate strategic planning. Prior to that he spent five years with Melaniphy & Associates, Inc, a real estate consulting firm, performing extensive due diligence on a wide variety of public and private real estate issues.Mr. Vande Hey earned an MBA with distinction in finance and economics from De Paul University and a BBA in marketing from St. Norbert College.
