ABOUT MARK VALPIED

My passion is helping organisations transform in order to generate commercial, market and social value. I do this by enabling those I work with to understand how digital technology can be truly transformative if they focus on moving away from traditional business models towards digital platforms. This leads to true Digital Transformation, rather than simply using technology to meet an efficiency or competitor challenge within the constraints of an existing business model.In pursuit of this objective, I have delivered large scale digital transformations; architected and developed ambitious and innovative digital products from MVP to full scale commercial release; contributed clever strategy to digital brand activations; navigated complex and often fraught integrations of enterprise solutions; and spent many hours going deep into the code. I have a Bachelor of Business in Marketing from RMIT University, Melbourne and 20+ years of media/digital industry experience. With an extensive technical skillset and well-honed commercial awareness, I communicate successfully in both technical and non-technical contexts. I have extensive experience advising industry leaders and C-level executives, and am as effective inspiring the boardroom, as I am leading the technical delivery function for virtual, offshore, nearshore and onshore teams. I am excited by best practice software delivery, cloud and serverless technologies, low-code / no-code platforms, and intelligent automation. I aim to continue to utilise my deep understanding of these technologies amongst others, coupled with my astute understanding of client businesses, to spot opportunities that others without both these skillsets may not be able to identify.
