As Head of Design, Technical & Placemaking at Pobl Group, I lead the strategic vision for design excellence, placemaking, and innovation across our housing and community regeneration portfolio. I am responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality, sustainable, and commercially viable developments that respond to their social, environmental, and contextual settings.My role spans the full spectrum of design and technical leadership, from masterplanning and site development to overseeing multidisciplinary teams of designers, technical specialists, and planners. I ensure all projects integrate best practice approaches to housing development, including the creation of cohesive, inclusive, and connected communities, aligned with the principles of the Placemaking Wales Charter. Sustainability, regulatory compliance, and commercial delivery are central to every project decision, ensuring that homes and communities are future-focused, resilient, and adaptable.I provide strategic oversight of land use planning, infrastructure, and technical compliance, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing investment decisions, policy discussions, and industry best practice. Collaboration with local authorities, developers, architects, and stakeholders ensures that every project balances community need, design excellence, and long-term value.Through mentoring and developing high-performing teams, I foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence, championing forward-thinking design solutions that set new standards in housing delivery. My work also extends to representing Pobl at regional and national forums, advocating for sustainable development and placemaking that enhances quality of life for residents and strengthens communities.In delivering Pobl’s ambitious growth strategies, I focus on projects that not only provide homes but also create vibrant, connected, and well-designed places where people can thrive.
