ABOUT MARK SOUTHWORTH

I’m a Senior DevOps Engineer at MrQ with extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing scalable, secure, and highly automated cloud environments. My work spans AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, CI/CD (Jenkins and more), and a broad ecosystem of DevOps tooling.I hold the CKAD, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, and HashiCorp Terraform Associate certifications, along with the AWS Certified AI Practitioner certification. I’m continually exploring new technologies and best practices to stay at the forefront of modern cloud engineering.In my role, I collaborate closely with developers, QA, and product teams to deliver reliable, high-quality software to our global users. I focus on building robust automation for deployment, testing, and monitoring; improving reliability and performance across development through production; and driving continuous improvements in DevOps culture, standards, and practices.I am also an advocate for Neurodiversity and Mental Health, both inside and outside the workplace. Creating inclusive, supportive environments is deeply important to me, and I am committed to contributing to a more diverse and understanding tech community.Outside of work, I enjoy learning about emerging technologies across cloud, finance, and engineering (especially anything automotive), walking my Terrier and French Bulldog mix, Mabel, and working on personal projects which I often write about and share on Medium.
