Leader of the Data Services team. Responsible for data governance and strategy for University Lands (University of Texas System). Reports to the VP of Business Intelligence and IT as member of the management team in the company. Work with engineers, geologists, regulatory, and IT to acquire, access, visualize, analyze, and integrate data into decision making that add value to the organization. Lead acquisition and QA/QC of operator production, completions, log, drilling/completions reports, and other data. Responsible for improving processes to gather and track incoming data, and disseminating clean and usable data, including for data analytics tools. Supervise data professionals and lead the data transformation initiatives for the organization. Responsible for managing, analyzing, and distilling large data sets, merged data sources, data warehousing and data connection improvements. Responsible for deriving, designing, and improving business intelligence and analytics from internal and external data sources, such as structured and unstructured data, relational data systems, data marts, data lakes, and others. Oversight on data architecture of a blended environment: Private Servers & Cloud. Provide insight and deliver solutions focused on improving awareness, availability, and quality of data in support of organizational goals. Build a data analytics culture and strategy for University Lands. Oversee usage of 3rd party data and applications, data-oriented products, and their licenses. Provide guidance and input for technology product evaluations and purchases. Use statistical and machine learning methods to deploy value adding solutions. Work with SWE team for application deployment of ML tools.
