ABOUT MARIE SHEEDY

I\'m honoured to be part of the Junior Achievement Ireland team as a Programme Coordinator. JAI is part of one of the world\'s largest educational non-profits, helping prepare young people for their futures through hands-on, experiential learning in entrepreneurship, employability, financial literacy, and the value of STEAM.My previous roles in SETU Waterford (formerly Waterford Institute of Technology) focused on the areas of student support and engagement. Having completed my degree in Design (Visual Communications) in 2016, I held the position of Education Officer for two years and President for one year in WIT Students\' Union. I started working in the office of Student Life and Learning focusing on student engagement and retention initiatives in 2019 and in 2020 received a promotion to the position of Student Engagement Administrator. I have attained honours in my MSc in Management with UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and honours in my Higher Diploma in Business with Dublin Business School.My time as a student has taught me resilience, self-management and linguistic skills. As I studied Graphic Design, I am a very visually driven human being with rational and creative thought processes.Working with people in support roles motivates me to consistently challenge myself. I have learned effective and decisive leadership, team management, conflict resolution, open-mindedness, active listening, emotional intelligence and negotiation.I am now growing and developing my own business, Planned to Perfection Weddings, and look forward to the next stages of my career development.
