As A HR and Payroll Manager I am responsible for managing and administering a diverse range of Canadian human resource functions in accordance with GM Financial policy and audit standards and external regulatory agencies. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to employee relations, company HR policy, government regulations, benefit plans, compensation, performance management and special projects. I interact heavily with management, employees, external business partners, and government agencies. As a HR/Payroll Manager I am responsible for directing the work of one payroll team member in carrying out responsibility for Canadian payroll preparation/production in the payroll department in compliance with Company policy and federal and provincial regulations. I am also responsible for all government remittances, year-end processes, payroll tax reporting/records and payroll systems. This role has contact with all Company departments, payroll processing vendor and government agencies.
