ABOUT MARCIN TREPKA

As a partner, I lead the Antitrust & Competition practice at Baker McKenzie in Warsaw. My expertise lies in Polish and EU competition law, as well as consumer law. I have a proven successful track record of representing clients before competition authorities, Polish and EU courts, and the Polish Supreme Court. Beyond my legal practice, I am actively involved in shaping international competition law policy. Currently, I serve as the Co-Chairman of the International Competition Network Task Force within the ICC Commission on Competition in Paris. Additionally, I hold the position of Non-Governmental Advisor to the International Competition Network. I assist clients across the entire spectrum of competition and consumer law. My experience includes representing clients in some of the most challenging and well-known antitrust matters involving cartels, antitrust litigation, verticals, and abuse of dominant market positions. Notably, I was the lead defense counsel in one of the first private enforcement cases in Poland, lead counsel in one of the biggest cartel case in Poland, and have addressed issues regarding the abuse of a dominant position in the gas markets of the CEE in proceedings before the European Court of Justice. I also have extensive expertise in delivering complex antitrust compliance solutions, advising on vertical and horizontal agreements, including distribution issues, online sales, cooperation between competitors, information exchange, pricing, and bonus policies. My merger control and related M&A experience spans multi-jurisdictional mergers and joint ventures, and I am well-versed in consumer law issues, including regulatory and consumer litigation. I advise a diverse range of clients, including those in the e-commerce, chemical, energy, media, finance, and life science sectors.
