I spearheaded the development of high-performance management firmware for an NVMe Controller, focusing on maximizing system observability and communication efficiency. Leveraging Google Pigweed, I architected an optimized, tokenized logging framework that utilizes BASE64 encoding to significantly reduce log overhead while ensuring reliable host-side decoding. My core contributions included developing custom Zephyr device drivers from scratch for PCIe VDM and DOE and engineering an MCTP bridge to seamlessly route packets across diverse hardware buses like USB and PCIe. To ensure production-grade reliability, I validated the entire stack across Synopsys Virtualizer and FPGA platforms, bridging the gap between high-level simulation and hardware-level execution.I led the end-to-end SoC bring-up and firmware architecture for a Fiber Channel Controller, designing a resilient three-stage stack—Manufacturing, Bootloader, and Operational—within the Zephyr RTOS ecosystem. To manage complex inter-core communication, I engineered a high-reliability P2P processor using Finite State Machines (FSM) and implemented critical system reset handlers (PERST and Hot Reset) to ensure graceful resource deallocation. Beyond the firmware itself, I focused on developer productivity by building a custom Python-based LogReader tool and telemetry modules, which streamlined real-time debugging and drastically reduced the time required for root-cause analysis during the bring-up phase.
