As a Buyer for Components, I maintain and develop a list of preferred suppliers in line with the company strategic road map and manage supplier relationships.Conduct tenders/bench-marking exercises to ensure Laleham retains its competitive edge.I am responsible for negotiating the best commercial terms with supplier on costs, MOQ, lead times and payment terms.I am responsible for achieving cost reduction targets across the component portfolio.Minimizing any cost increases, highlighting any impact of component costs increases across the business.Monitor and manage supplier performance against the 3 deliverable, Cost, Quality and Delivery.Develop existing strategic and core suppliers and identify new sources that will bring new opportunities and innovation.Negotiating and implementing, where applicable, long term contracts/agreements with strategic partners.Manage effectively any delivery and availability challenges with the supply chainIdentify/implement inventory management programs to maintain/reduce lead times and ensure MOQ control to minimize stock write off.Work with the Development and Quality Team and within Company buying strategies and/or customer nominated requirements to source and obtain prices, specification and timing information for new components.Responsible for price negotiations and associated costs, as required on new componentsSupport the achieving of deadlines within the Critical Path Analysis for new produce launches.Responsible for ensuring new component codes are added to the system.Arrange or attend supplier and customer meetings as required.Carry out other associated projects and duties
