Simply put, Choolwe Mandona builds systems and people!Driven civil chemical engineer actively seeking a high impact career in water supply infrastructure development,water disinfection, water reuse, wastewater treatment, pollution remediation and hazardous waste management. Choolwe currently serves as a professional engineer with Mott Macdonald addressing both water and wastewater challenges. She was also selected to be a part of the Early Career Advisory Group within the company to help develop and create initiatives and programs that will enhance the experience and culture within the company. She has since being selected to be a part of an advisory committee for the water and environment unit executive team to develop actionable strategies on race and culture matters.Previously, Choolwe worked as a water resources engineer in ARCADIS where she was involved in the planning, design and documentation review of an upcoming filtration facility at the Shades Mountain Treatment Plant serving the Birmingham metro area. She also worked with Golder Associates Inc. in Denver where she was part of the industrial water treatment group serving Golder\'s global clientele. Additional distinguished work in the water sector involved investigating the removal of chlorinated groundwater contaminants using the advanced oxidation process of ultraviolet light technology coupled with hydrogen peroxide. As an aspiring technical leader in the water industry, she is enthusiastic and passionate about the design and implementation of water systems using sustainable, integrated and progressive solutions to provide water of its highest quality for the betterment of public health. Other notable engineering experiences include: 1) Co-manager of Engineers Without Borders Potable Water Disinfection Project in Ecuador 2) Spearheading the 3rd Annual Colorado Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Symposium 3) Initial Research of an organic aerosol catchment system for the enhancement of air quality
