ABOUT MALLORY PEARCY

Welcome Y\'all! If you had told me years ago that I’d end up working in aviation, I probably would have laughed. I was always surrounded by people in aviation: Both grandfathers were in the U.S. Air Force, grandmother with her private pilots license, my husband was an air weapons tech in the Canadian Air Force, and a sister in law works as an aerospace engineer. I never knew until working at Elevate Aviation how there actually was a spot for me in aviation, after all. Fast forward to today, and I have the privilege of doing just that—helping women and underrepresented groups carve out their place in aviation. For the past two years, I’ve worked at Elevate Aviation Learning Centre, first as a Program Coordinator for youth programs. I spent my days organizing week-long immersive field trips for school groups across Edmonton and Calgary, introducing students to the vast career opportunities within aviation. I also played a key role in expanding the Junior Jets curriculum, helping young learners connect classroom concepts to real-world aviation careers. But something kept pulling me in another direction—toward the adults. The ones taking a leap of faith, leaving behind familiar paths to start fresh in aviation. I deeply admire these individuals, and in many ways, I see myself in them. I was terrified when I left my teaching career in Texas and moved to Canada. Starting over is never easy, but with the proper support, it’s possible. That’s exactly what I strive to provide for all my learners: an engaging, impactful learning experience in an environment where they feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow. I believe learning happens best when people feel supported, respected, and encouraged—especially when stepping into something entirely new. My goal is to ensure that every learner leaves our programs with the confidence and tools they need to succeed long after they walk out the door. And yes—if you’re wondering—I now help teach a course on becoming an Aircraft Service Technician, despite having zero experience fixing airplanes! I leave the technical side to the experts. Still, I guide learners through everything they need to land their first job in the field: general aviation knowledge, resume and cover letter writing, interview skills, and career development. At Elevate, we say that once you graduate, you’re part of our community for life. I truly believe in that, and I’m passionate about ensuring that every learner feels supported, valued, and ready to take flight in their new career. I look forward to connecting with you!
