My name is Christine Merrick and I’m an engaged leader with an expansive knowledge of social media marketing, sales, and customer service in the tourism / aviation/ hospitality market. I’m particularly interested in emerging areas which offer the opportunity to leverage my unique experience in the tourism industry to help build business and create meaningful partnerships. I believe sustainable growth is derived from genuine engagement and connection and, as such, I strive to listen and respond to customer / member / partner feedback. In my experience, the most reliable way to increase revenue and profitability is to secure repeat business and word-of-mouth recommendations by truly listening to, and meeting the needs of clients. As a strategic planner I gain satisfaction from combining my creativity, organizational skills, and work ethic to develop and launch successful initiatives, programs, and projects from scratch. Some success stories include:* Increasing exposure, audience, and reach by over 80 per cent by developing brand new, comprehensive social media marketing plan based on a universally adopted calendar template.* Boosting partnership from 225 to 785 members by developing a sales action plan with targets; identifying, generating, and closing new leads through meetings and presentations.* Establishing Swissport as the largest ground-handling operator at the Edmonton International Airport, starting from scratch to manage resource planning (labour force, equipment, facilities) and set up the entire operation. Throughout my career I have always prepared me to work smarter, harder, or differently to achieve better results. This attitude has allowed me to adapt, thrive, and become a key contributor in a very short time when faced with new circumstances and environments.
