ABOUT MAGDY BLASS SELMY
Hi, I’m Magdy, a Brazilian Experience Designer living in Calgary. By day, I’m crafting digital products; by early mornings or weekends, I’m usually out on the trails training for my next run or exploring new ways art and design intersect in abstract digital painting. For the past 15+ years, I’ve worked at the crossroads of creativity, technology, and strategy. Starting out in advertising and art direction, I built a foundation in storytelling and visual design. Today, I bring that perspective into UX/UI, where I connect user needs with business goals to craft experiences that feel thoughtful, intuitive, and delightful. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with global brands, national organizations, and start-ups, spanning industries from healthcare and education to finance and technology. Currently, at PowerShifter, I help clients like TELUS, BC GOV, and Lululemon design digital ecosystems rooted in empathy, clarity, and measurable impact. I’m endlessly curious about why people make the choices they do, and I love exploring how creativity shows up in human behaviour.
