ABOUT MADISON LEONG

I\'ve been a creative for as long as I can remember; dancing, singing, writing stories. When STEM started being pushed in middle school, I thought it wasn\'t for me, that it was something reserved for the “smart kids.” I always thought I would be a writer, dancer, or something in between. I carried that assumption through high school, through straight A’s, a rigorous middle college program, and 50 college units, still convinced I\'d end up at a performing arts school or choreographing for a famous artist. Then COVID hit, any concept of a plan dissolved, and a gap year became my unexpected turning point.A friend thought I\'d be a good fit for a project management internship, and turns out, they were right. Managing software projects sparked a curiosity I didn’t expect, and for the first time, I thought: maybe I actually could do something more technical.I researched degrees, starting with business administration but ultimately landing on Management Information Systems. The programming and systems coursework just made sense to me in a way I didn\'t see coming. I wasn\'t an expert, but for the first time, I felt like I had the potential to be (with some time and hard work). That feeling has compounded ever since. Through my Project Management internships at Jabil, Precisely, and Corsair, into my current role as a Revenue Systems Analyst at Cherry where I build production automation systems, Salesforce infrastructure, and revenue workflows - something my middle school self would have never predicted. I\'m still a creative at heart, I just spend more time building systems now instead of stories and choreography. And I\'m just getting started! Feel free to send me a message if you want to learn more about my journey, or chat about relevant opportunities :)
