ABOUT MADIHA KHAN
I am a junior at Duke University pursuing a Biology major with a focus on Global Health and a Cultural Anthropology minor, on the Pre-Med track. My academic and professional interests span research, healthcare, and social impact, with a goal of addressing pressing societal health issues.Currently, I’m gaining hands-on experience in research through various labs and projects, including investigating gene therapy for neuromuscular disorders and exploring the health and well-being of patients with chronic kidney disease. I also contribute to the Duke Research Scholars Program, connecting students with research opportunities, and work as an EMT-B at Medex Transport and Medical Assistant at Southwest Durham Family Medicine.Beyond academics and research, I’m involved in healthcare volunteering, mentorship programs, and initiatives like the Millennium Fellowship to build leadership skills in social impact. I am also passionate about creative writing and journalism, which I integrate into my research work to communicate complex healthcare topics effectively.
