ABOUT LYN CURRIE
Lyn Currie is Managing Director for Waterstone’s executive search practice, where she leads executive search practice for the firm. With 25 years in executive search, Lyn specializes in C-level assignments in multiple sectors across North America. She has been leading customized executive and leadership searches for Canadian clients who look to her expertise to attract a high-performance executives who add to their culture to drive results. Lyn has deep expertise in industrial manufacturing and technology sectors. Over the past eight years leading the executive search business at Waterstone, Lyn has created a deep specialty in the people and culture function. Three years ago, she co-founded the Canada’s Most Admired Chief People and Culture award to shine a spotlight on the human resources function as strategic right-hand to the CEO. Lyn leads this award for the firm, which includes supporting the voting board in the formation of the long and short list of CPCO/CHRO candidates. She is also the chief liaison for all CPCO candidates, CPCO winners and leads various CPCO roundtables, where Canadian HR executives come together to brainstorm and share best practices. Lyn also moderates a special panel of the CPCO winners every year at the Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Culture summit. Lyn\'s other functional specialties include CEO, COO and CFO searches.As Waterstone’s lead for MacKay CEO Forums, Lyn is an active participant in bringing thought leadership to the MacKay community. She is a sought-after speaker and is a member of a MacKay CEO forum for the past seven years. Speaking topics include- Leveraging culture to attract and retain talent- Top trends from Canada’s Most Admired Culture AwardsEarlier in her career, Lyn was the Canadian Country Leader and Client Partner for a division of Korn Ferry International where she was responsible for the strategic direction, development and growth of the business. She also served on the global leadership team for the organization. Earlier in her career, Lyn held several leadership, sales and marketing roles in a global technology recruitment and outsourcing firm.Lyn has served on a publicly traded board (TSX –V) for 7 years where she led the Human Resources and Compensation committee. In this capacity, she brought her expertise in human resources best practices to the newly formed board and was an active participant in taking the company public.
