ABOUT LUIS VASQUEZ

As the Director of Public Partnerships, Manager of Outreach and Mentorship, Job Development, and Career and Employment Programs including Employment Ontario service delivery (Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities - MTCU), I led the strategic planning and delivery of employment and community programs across the GTA, Walkerton and surrounding areas. In alignment with program goals, I provided strategic direction in the development of proposals and the management of government grant submissions, communication strategies for outreach, and the development and implementation of an internal mentorship program geared to assist international trained professionals. Additional skills included the accountable management of budgets ($3-9 million) and operations, securing partnerships with different levels of government, corporations and other not-for-profit organizations, and finally, promoting community programming across the GTA. I am bilingual (English-Spanish), a strong personable leader who is respected and trusted in communities across the GTA, and who has an empathetic but firm approach to building teams. I have competently managed employees and volunteers in different categories such as Outreach Coordinators, Job Developers, Settlement, Addictions, Career and Employment Counsellors, Workshop Facilitators, Social Workers, Human Resources Professionals and administrative staff.
