ABOUT LUCY RANDALL
I acquire and edit books in philosophy for a wide variety of audiences. I am also the US-based editor of the Very Short Introductions series, ranging across various subject areas. On the trade side of my list, I often gravitate towards work intervening on timely and relevant issues of ethical concern (e.g. AI, racism, abortion rights) as well as books that ground profound philosophical ideas in narratives from the history of philosophy. Books I’ve edited include, in recent years, Shannon Vallor’s The AI Mirror; Andrew Janiak’s The Enlightenment’s Most Dangerous Woman; Myisha Cherry’s The Case for Rage: Why Anger is Essential to Anti-Racist Struggle; Benjamin Lipscomb’s The Women Are Up to Something; and the books in the Guides the Good Life series, a series on practical advice drawn from the leading philosophers and schools of philosophy, such as Carlos Sanchez’s Blooming in the Ruins: How Mexican Philosophy Can Guide Us Toward the Good Life and Emily Austin’s Living for Pleasure: An Epicurean Guide to the Good Life.
