ABOUT LOUISE DANIEL
For the past three years I have travelled Europe and Morocco, jumped out of a plane, taught myself how to knit and written short stories, created YouTube content, had fun with tiktok and flexed my creative writing muscles. All with varying degrees of success. My time as a Plymouth Herald commercial, news and feature writer was spent building a catalogue of excellent skills including photography, film work, interviewing and a variety of commercial and news stories. Everyday negotiation, mediation, strength and determination was required and I have honed these skills in every job since. Thrown into the mix is my flair for finding creative solutions, getting to heart of briefs and navigating the tricky want/need balance. Quite aside from thoroughly relishing face to face work where I build robust relationships, I ensure transparent and clear communication. I am looking to take ownership of a role, share best practice and further build on my already considerable arsenal of communication skills – I’m always happy to help, listen and learn and have experience of training staff and developing their potential. I’m also a hands-on practical person who is always happy to muck in. I am tenacious, love deadlines and enjoy juggling the demands of multiple tasks, but more than that, I thrive on challenge and relish getting my teeth into new tasks. I work well in a team and have experience of line management but happily work independently too. Louise Daniel is a published writer with an ethical heart. Experience of working with public and private sector businesses spanning more than 20 years means Louise has a wide range of skills. Writing is her passion but building meaningful relationships with people is key to everything she does. The Plymouth Herald proved fantastic opportunity to grow and hone her writing skills both on and offline. She was in print and online from day one, sourcing relevant, topical and interesting stories by building relationships within the Plymouth community. Louise’s approach is personal, direct and hands on. She learns by listening and encourages honest feedback with an eye firmly on constant improvement through collaboration.
