Buying responsibilities - Copier Paper / Stationery / Exercise Books / Art & Craft• Developing top line buying team strategy plan with head of purchasing • Developing & implementing individual category strategy plans• Maintaining supplier relationships and generating new supplier contacts• Range Management & Analysis - Sales performance, Margin Mix, Stock analysis, Range completion, Market trends, Product development, Catalogue performance• Sourcing and developing new product categories and new supplier relationships• Responsible for tough negotiations on top selling products to ensure market leading pricing• Review supplier trading agreements on an annual basis and make recommendations to the business on how to drive incremental value, conducting supplier negotiations on cost price, rebates, marketing contributions, & Conditions of trading• Contracts - responsible for maintaining and renewing buying consortium contracts across councils• Analyse and report the financial performance of each category to key stakeholders on a weekly basis analysing sales, stock holding, margins, trends and anticipating potential issues• Catalogue Production - Product selection, Product placement, Pricing Matrix, Page design and final page sign off• Marketing - Developing & Implementing promotional plans with suppliers and the marketing team and working with key stakeholders to achieve key milestones• People management
