ABOUT LORENZO CARLEO
Since 1996, I\'ve been on a transformative journey with technology. My start was humble, delving into Linux and Networking through linuxdoc.org and the W3. Back in the days of the early internet—which some referred to as the dark/deep web—I crafted LAMP web applications, built Linux-based firewalls, and tested their security through ethical hacking.Inspired by visionaries like Richard Stallman and Eric Raymond, I\'ve always been an advocate for Free Software and the Open Source movement. In 2010, when automation in the banking industry was a novel concept, I conceptualized a platform for core banking automation. This endeavor also led me to participate in the IBM Global Entrepreneur Program.Over the years, I\'ve worked globally with industry giants like IBM and Red Hat, as well as leading financial institutions. I spearheaded the digital transformation of an IBM subsidiary in the financial sector, and significantly contributed to the digitization of two prominent banks. I\'ve collaborated with C-level executives to shape IT strategies of Leading Banks, led the introduction of DevOps cultures, and prepared organizations for cloud migrations with Red Hat Linux solutions.Executing an AI/ML project, solidifing my expertise in applying advanced technologies in a real-world financial setting, I am now delving deeper into the realms of AI, engaging IBM watsonx platform and my current pursuit of an AI/ML professional certificate at Imperial College Business School. I\'ve also had the privilege of defining business, technology, and security architectures for robust and sustainable systems. I\'ve contributed to the enhancement of client business models through a focus on user experience, all while aligning with compliance standards like NIST, FedRAMP, and HIPAA.With 27 years in technology—10 of which are specialized in core banking—I bring a wealth of experience in engineering and architecture. My skills cover a broad range, from Linux and Unix systems to Python and Java applications, networking, Open Source, IBM technologies, leveraging Automation and AI/ML.My career is a testament to my enduring passion for technology, fueled by my early roots in the Open Source community along with a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of technological advancements.\"Businesses that enhance their operational frameworks with public and internal data insights, while emphasizing data protection and customer privacy, consistently refine their business strategies and models, outpacing competitors and securing the trust of stakeholders as a whole!\"
