ABOUT LOGAN HENNING
Logan Henning is an engineer with a passion for rapid prototyping. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Computational Physics and has experience with Mechanical and Test Engineering as it relates to consumer products and aerial vehicles. Logan is currently employed as a Propulsion Engineer.Logan has completed the following notable engineering projects:When COVID first hit, Logan and and his business partner Alexia Preston received an Innovation Seed Grant to fund their business idea to build a coffee mug sterilizer using UV light, which would allow coffee shops to be more sustainable without putting the customers or employees at risk. Logan’s main roles: design and build the first two prototypes (electronics, hardware, aesthetics) with safety, simplicity, and performance taking top design priority, Bio-Safety Level 1 certified researcher to gather data on the efficacy of the sterilizer, and assist with customer outreach.Logan Received an innovation Seed Grant for the second time build a personal flying machine using UAV technology in an open-source format so that others may replicate his process. He is in the process of optimizing the hardware for the longest flight time while maintaining a budget of (while maintaining safety as the utmost priority). By gathering all of the market data available and using tools like Computational Fluid Dynamics, Logan is eager to design the most efficient manned octocopter with commercially available parts. As of August 2022, a successful tethered test flight was completed. For his Plasma Physics Research Assistant position, Logan researched high voltage power sources. He built a nanosecond pulsed, microsecond pulsed, and an AC power source for the plasma jet. Additionally, he machined two Low Temperature Atmospheric Pressure Plasma Jets.Under a different project for the Plasma Physics Research, Logan ideated and built a novel cheap and accessible switch for repeatable high voltage pulses. In his personal life, Logan chases adventure. He frequently goes rock climbing, canyoneering, or highlining. Additionally, he has become an avid adventure photographer in an effort to share his experiences with others. He lives by the saying “Shoot for the moon and even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars”. Fusion 360, CAD, Creo, CAM, Machining, CFD, Java, Python
