ABOUT LAUREN MACKAY

As a Bachelor of Management candidate with a Minor in Neuroscience and a Certificate in Disability Management from Dalhousie University, I am passionate about merging business strategy and healthcare innovation to drive meaningful impact. Originally from Toronto and now based in Halifax, I am deeply engaged in my community through leadership and advocacy roles.I have had the privilege of leading innovative projects, such as Head First, a digital concussion management platform designed to support students in concussion recovery. As a Team Lead in the Dalhousie Innovates Collide Program, I spearheaded the validation of this project, conducting interviews with key stakeholders and experts to develop effective customer strategies. Currently, I am expanding the project through the Mitacs Business Strategy Internship, focused on business development and scaling the platform.In my roles as Summer Experience Supervisor and Deck Lead at The Boulevard Club, I developed and managed the scheduling and performance of a 36-person team, leading weekly events and ensuring top-tier service for members. This experience has honed my skills in operational management, problem-solving, and team leadership.As Co-Chair of the Women in Business Association (WIBA) at Dalhousie University, I was responsible for organizing the 2024 Women in Business Conference, managing a budget, securing sponsorships, and leading a team to create a successful event. Additionally, I serve as a Campus Captain for The Hidden Opponent, advocating for mental health awareness in sports and leading a team of 16 across various campuses.
