ABOUT LISA ALLEN

As Director of Data Services, I lead the organisation’s data and AI strategy, ensuring we capture, use and share data in ways that deliver clear benefits for savers. I am responsible for setting the strategic direction for data across the organisation, including the responsible adoption and use of AI, building out our Azure data platform and building our data capabilities. In leading this agenda, I cannot act in isolation. The Pensions Regulator’s data strategy must work hand-in-hand with industry to ensure that data flows are proportionate, effective, and sustainable. This means collecting and using only the data necessary to manage risk, while ensuring the burden placed on schemes and employers is appropriate and justified.I am an experienced data leader with a proven track record of helping public and private sector organisations build open, trustworthy data ecosystems that create measurable value. I have deep expertise across the data lifecycle and have successfully delivered data strategies that balance regulatory need, operational efficiency, and stakeholder confidence.A Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) with expertise across multiple data disciplines, including data governance, data quality, open data, and data protection. I enjoy working with stakeholders at all levels, securing buy-in for data initiatives, and influencing senior leaders to embed a strong, data-driven culture.I am also passionate about building and developing high-performing teams, working effectively in complex and diverse environments, and delivering impactful outcomes. Previously, I served as a Director and Chair of DAMA UK, the Data Management Association, the leading professional community for data management practitioners.
