ABOUT LEEANNE BLOOMFIELD

Invited as the interim Producer, Tarnanthi (October 2024 - January 2025)The name Tarnanthi (pronounced tar-nan-dee) comes from the language of the Kaurna people, the traditional owners of the Adelaide Plains. It means to come forth or appear – like the sun and the first emergence of light.Tarnanthi is a platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from across the country to share important stories through artistic excellence, illuminating the diversity and depth of art and culture in communities nationwide. It encourages new beginnings by providing artists with opportunities to create significant new work and to extend their practice.Over the moon to be invited back as the Producer KidZone WOMADelaide 2025.Supported the dynamic team at KU Arts to assist Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander artists living & working in South Australia. In 2022, appointed as Project Manager, Tarnanthi Art Fair 2021 with the Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA), which ran as an online event from 15-18 October 2021. The online Tarnanthi Art Fair 2021 hit a record $1.4 million in sales, surpassing its previous record by 16%. All sales made at the Tarnanthi Art Fair go directly back to artists/art centres and their communities. I arrived at AGSA after more than 8 years at the South Australian Museum (SAM), as Manager, Visitor Experience and Manager, Community Education & Events where I managed the unique ‘Ruby Award’ winning ‘Out of the Glass Case’ program. Under my stewardship the program travelled to hundreds of venues in remote and regional Australia, racking up a total of and engaging with over participants. Before landing at the South Australian Museum, I spent ten years with the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation. During that time I held a variety of roles, as a Heritage Officer, I successfully managed The Premier\'s NAIDOC Award, Executive Officer to the State Aboriginal Heritage Committee, SA NAIDOC Committee and the APY Lands Taskforce, Editor of the \'On the Lands\' newsletter and a variety of PR and Communications roles. Skilled in Event Management, Programming, Corporate Communications, Volunteer Management, Procurement,Strategic Planning, Social Media, Visitor Experience and Research. Strong community and social justice values. In my spare time I harness my superpowers and manage an idyllic mid-century property located on the Fleurieu Peninsula. The property is listed on Airbnb and I have worked incredibly hard to maintain Airbnb Superhost status & the property is listed Green Gables by the Sea.
