ABOUT LEE GARDINER
I am an experienced executive leader with a legal background and 20+ years of senior management experience predominantly in the HR, people and culture transformation space including health and safety and change management. I have held senior people, culture and marketing roles in a range of publicly listed, government and privately held organisations. I am passionate about organisational success through robust people practices and for supporting the leaders of today whilst building the leaders of tomorrow. I am a strategic thinker, a strong executor, a high performance team builder and an energy generator. My leadership style is authentic and empathetic but I set high expectations for performance. I challenge the status quo and constantly work for improvement and positive change within organisations. I am Ngati Tuwharetoa and I am a champion for Maori development and achievement, equity and inclusion. I am an allied of the LGBTQA community. I was privileged to start my governance career by being an Associate Director as part of the CCHL Associate Director programme on the Citycare Board of Directors. For me governance is about contributing, shaping and influencing the success of an organisation in a non-executional role and supporting those in senior leadership teams to achieve. Key industry experience: Energy, Agricultural (Pastoral and Agritech) Research, Agricultural Machinery, Indigenous Education (Canada) and Tourism.
