ABOUT LEA ANNE WILES

I am a dedicated and results-driven community advocate with a passion for fostering meaningful connections and improving the lives of those around me. My professional journey has taken me from healthcare, as a clinical pharmacist, to small business ownership, and now to leadership roles in community engagement and advocacy. Each chapter of my life has deepened my commitment to creating spaces where individuals and communities can thrive.My drive to make a difference is rooted in my personal journey. I became a mom while still in high school, giving birth to my son during the summer between my junior and senior years. The experience tested my resilience but also revealed the power of community support. With the encouragement and guidance of others, I graduated high school with honors, earned my Doctor of Pharmacy degree, and built a fulfilling career and family life. That experience taught me empathy for those facing struggles and instilled in me a profound belief in the impact one person can have on another’s success. This lesson continues to fuel my dedication to helping others overcome barriers and achieve their potential.Today, I apply those lessons in my work and volunteerism. I have honed my strengths in communication, relationship-building, and strategic organization - skills I use daily as a volunteer leader, nonprofit board member, and neighborhood association president. Currently, I serve in diverse roles such as Secretary of the Governing Board for Head Start Chattanooga, Steering Committee member for the Chattanooga Mayor\'s Council for Women, and Executive Committee member of the Hamilton County Democratic Party. I also recently joined the board of the Women\'s Fund of Greater Chattanooga, advocating for equitable policies and resources that empower women and girls.My work centers on bringing people together to collaborate on initiatives that drive meaningful change. Whether organizing community programs, participating in policy discussions, or mentoring others, I am committed to ensuring that every voice has a seat at the table.When not engaged in community efforts, I enjoy traveling with my husband, David, to visit our children, grandchildren, and exploring the world.I believe that strong communities start with engaged citizens, and I am excited to connect with others who share the vision of a more inclusive and thriving society.
