ABOUT LAURENT VANDOMME

Laurent Vandomme is the managing partner of SINCLAIR, a boutique firm providing strategic advice to investors, developers, sponsors, contractors and financiers in relation to the structuring and successful completion of major projects, primarily in the energy sector, in France and in Africa. Over the past 33 years, Laurent Vandomme has advised on approximately 300 energy projects and transactions, in the upstream and downstream oil & gas sectors, in the field of power generation from nuclear, fossil fuel (gas, diesel, coal) and renewable (offshore and onshore wind, solar PV, biomass, biogas) sources, as well as in the mining sector. Laurent started his career as in-house counsel in the energy industry during 9 years at TOTAL and GE Power. He then moved to private practice and was a partner at Herbert Smith for 13 years before moving to Jones Day where he was the partner in charge of the energy practice in the Paris office and the global head of the Africa practice between 2010 and 2015. At the beginning of 2016, he decided to launch SINCLAIR, an independent structure combining industry knowledge with a true entrepreneurial and innovative approach to the practice of law. Laurent was named in 2013 as one of the top 15 lawyers for Africa by leading French magazine Jeune Afrique. He was also singled out as a \"Leading Lawyer\" for Africa work in the \"Projects\",\"M&A\",\"Oil & Gas\" and \"Power\" categories in the recent \"Energy & Infrastructure - Sub-Saharan Africa 2015\" rankings published by in association with the Petroleum Economist. In 2014, Laurent was named as the single \"Best Lawyer in France\" in Energy law by the U.S. legal publication Best Lawyers in collaboration with the French daily business newspaper Les Echos.
