ABOUT LAUREN SCHENA
I’m a journalist who recently graduated from High Point University with my BA in journalism. I have a passion for broadcast media, storytelling, and digital journalism. During my time at HPU, I gained a lot of valuable experiences in these realms. As a student reporter for The View Point Newspaper, I researched and wrote articles, conducted interviews, and worked under tight deadlines to produce compelling, fact-driven stories. My work has strengthened my communication, writing, and interviewing skills, to prepare me for the fast-paced world of journalism.I was also involved with HPU Vision, a student-run broadcast club where I learned about live news production, newsroom workflows, and technical operations. This opportunity further developed my understanding of broadcast journalism and is what inevitably fuels my passion for anchoring and inspired me to pursue that as a dream career. I’m eager to continue growing and learning as a journalist outside of college and contribute to meaningful storytelling.
