ABOUT LAUREN HUNT
I am currently a News Producer at CBS 8 in San Diego, California. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in December 2018 with a Bachelor\'s in Journalism and minor in Public Relations. I was hired at CBS 8 as a morning producer and within three months I was promoted to my current position of weekday 5PM producer. I\'m also the producer of our weekly roundup show \"Around San Diego\". that highlights the top stories the community should know from that week. I was a key member of the team that took that show from only airing on our app. to launching it on air. I helped design the open, lower thirds, and transitions. From 2021 through 2023 I worked at WHAS 11 in Louisville, Kentucky. I was one of three producers for the morning show, Good Morning Kentuckiana. Every day it was our goal that each story we put into the rundown had a \"today forward\" angle to it. During my time there, I had to really push my producing skills further than I ever had before. I learned so much from my fellow producers and am continuing to learn and experiment everyday throughout the newscast. In Des Moines, I was hired at WOI as the midday producer and ended up producing every single show at least once throughout my two years there. With just one reporter and no photographers while working the weekends, I had to learn how to be creative to produce a great show with minimal resources. Throughout my time in Des Moines, I had the opportunity to cover many big events like the 2020 Caucus, the 2020 Election, COVID-19 breaking news, and field produced and digitally reported from protests in the downtown area following the death of George Floyd. In college I was the Sports Director of our university\'s nightly news. I reported, anchored and produced our sports show for all four years. In 2017, I was one of three undergraduate students chosen to cover the NCAA Final Four in Phoenix. Our coverage won first place in the Broadcast Education Association\'s \'Best Newscast 4 days/week\' category.
