How do we create the kind of healthcare system we would want for our patients—and for the people we love most? From my early career as a clinician to my work as a digital health leader, advisor, and innovator, I have focused on transformation that delivers compassionate, safe, and deeply human care—care worthy of those whose lives quite literally depend on it. I have been fortunate to contribute to meaningful progress alongside extraordinary leaders and institutions, including Don Berwick at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the Rhode Island Quality Institute, and the National Academy of Medicine, among many others. And yet, the work is far from done.Today, as technology—and especially AI—reshapes health care, I am driven by a simple but urgent responsibility: to ensure these tools are applied in ways that truly advance the Quadruple Aim—better health, better care, lower cost, and joy in work for the workforce—while strengthening patient safety, trust, and human connection rather than eroding them.As a speaker, strategist, and consultant, I am honored to help leaders and organizations navigate this moment—advancing bold, sometimes disruptive strategies that enable resilient, modern, and mindful health and healthcare systems designed around people, not just processes or technology.
