I began to open my home to supplement my income in November of 2017 and quickly fell in love with this role. Enormous preparation and care goes into planning of renting my home out and I always strive for excellence which has paid off as evidenced by my dozens of 5 star reviews from very happy guests. I welcome people to the area and specialize in family groups that are coming to do sightseeing, family events like weddings and anniversaries as well as laying a loved one to rest at Arlington National Cemetery. I have community support within my neighborhood that is an important part of this work. Attention to detail, proficiency of the AirBnB platform and its many nuances with numerous fields and details have been developed by spending many hours learning the application thoroughly. I also became an advocate for reasonable regulations in Fairfax County and worked with county Board of Supervisors and led and organic grass roots effort to work for fair and reasonable regulations. My organization grew to over 500 hosts like myself in Fairfax County during this time. Efforts were also made at the state level in Richmond and I was responsible for coordinating testimony of individuals with committee hearings, educating Senators and Delegates and worked to make the voice of Virginia residents heard by their legislators. I worked with other individuals within Virginia in other counties to successfully advocate for fair regulations as well and taught them how to speak to their lawmakers and legislators. I operate a thriving home rental that balances community and family travel while maintaining very high standards of communication, cleanliness and safety, while also protecting my home with very clear rules and regulations that are applied for stays in my home. I handle any issues that come up during a guests stay immediately for a quick resolution for very happy guests.
