As the Community Manager at Renaissance Of Hope, the community development arm of Straight Gate International Church— I lead initiatives that address critical health and safety housing repairs for low-income residents in Detroit’s 48204 zip code. Through partnerships with DTE Energy, Green & Healthy Homes Initiative, and the Detroit Home Repair Fund (supported by the Gilbert Family Foundation), I help connect residents to essential home repair services that improve living conditions and overall well-being.Key Responsibilities:Serve as the primary liaison between residents, contractors, and partner organizations to coordinate home repair projects.Manage outreach and intake processes to identify eligible households in need of critical health and safety repairs.Ensure program compliance and track progress in collaboration with DTE and Green & Healthy Homes Initiative.Advocate for resident needs and provide ongoing support throughout the repair process.Promote awareness of available resources in the 48204 community through workshops, events, and faith-based engagement.Impact:This work has led to significant improvements in housing stability, energy efficiency, and health outcomes for vulnerable families—furthering our mission to uplift and revitalize the 48204 community.
