ABOUT LADAR JONES
Manager of Public Safety Emergency Communications Center for the Chicago Midway International Airport (MDW) where he managed the overall functions of safety and security of the airport. In his current role, he leads the Public Safety and Security Airport Communications Center. Jones is responsible for the day to day operations and TSA regulatory compliance at the Department of Aviation to ensure the efficient, safe and secure movement of about passengers and aircraft operations each day including but not limited to; various card key access alarm systems, video surveillance systems, and various other related systems. Additionally, Jones is responsible for developing and implementing the Airport Emergency response plans for the Chicago Department of Aviation Office of Emergency Management & Communications. LaDar Jones became the Assistant Federal Security Director for Law Enforcement in 2008. As Assistant Federal Security Director for Law Enforcement, Mr. Jones overseen and ensured the coordination of all law enforcement related matters, as well as the responsibility of managing the TSA-MDW Transportation Security Specialist-Explosive, the Behavior Detection Officers programs and the LEO Reimbursements for TSA-MDW. Mr. Jones also provides support to federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies during counter-terrorism briefings and investigative operations. Mr. Jones served as the Federal Air Marshal Service Liaison for Transportation Security Administration/Federal Air Marshal Service. In this capacity, he served as the Supervisory Federal Air Marshal to the TSA-MDW Federal Security Director on fraud, waste, and abuse to include investigative matters. Prior to that, Mr. Jones was the Supervisory Federal Air Marshal for the Chicago FAMS’ Field Office where he managed, trained, assigned, and supervised the deployment of several squads of federal agents. In addition, Mr. Jones was the Occupational Safety Manager where he oversaw the safety and security of the office and occupational safety and hazards. Mr. Jones began his federal career in 2002 as a Federal Air Marshal. Prior to joining TSA/FAMS, Mr. Jones work as a Police Officer with the Chicago Police Department Public Housing Authority Division. During his 10 year career with the Police Department he held a series of positions that included: Field Training Officer, Operational Tactical Officer, Criminal Investigative Detective, and Executive Dignitary Protection Commander.
