ABOUT KYLIE TOLAN

I have always been interested in the relationship between numbers and strategy. Whether overseeing budgets, ensuring smooth event operations, or inspecting expenses and receipts, I thrive in roles that require attention to detail and big picture thinking.As a Financial Coordinator at the Gatton College of Business and Economics, I oversee inventory, process receipts, and help resolve budget conflicts. Prior to moving up into this role, I worked as a Special Events Intern, where I assisted in planning events, created budgets, and collaborated with clients and vendors. Each of these roles helped prepare me for my future job in accounting or finance by giving me a solid foundation working with finances. My experience also extends beyond finance, I also served as a Resident Advisor for the Governor’s Institute of Vermont, coaching and guiding students on entrepreneurship to prepare them for a stimulated business pitch. In my roles I learned skills in leadership, collaboration, budgeting, and data analysis. Outside of work, I am an Accounting and Finance major maintaining a 4.0 GPA and making Dean’s List each semester, while actively being involved in activities like the Women Business Leaders Mentorship Program. Where I am able to collaborate with driven professionals and learn from those around me. Through my activities and academics I found a love for accounting, and I aspire to become a CPA.I\'m always excited to meet people in a similar role to what I aspire do and I\'m currently seeking a Summer 2026 internship in finance or accounting, where I can apply my learned skills from inside and outside the classroom.
