ABOUT KURT YANAGIMACHI
I am a technical leader who thrives when posed with challenges in the pursuit of the benefit of others. I’ve had the privilege of working in the biotech space in which I’ve been a part of getting treatments to patients with rare genetic disorders, most often where no to minimal treatments exist. And this could only happen by having mentors who trusted me in taking on the challenges and leading innovative and collaborative teams to get the work done. There has been no better pleasure than seeing the impact on the patients as they’ve grown to adulthood and thrived themselves (often not possible without the treatment). I’m most proud of leading the teams who envisioned and eventually built the first known L scale AAV gene therapy manufacturing facility in record time to enable the pivotal clinical trials for a new one-time treatment for patients with severe hemophilia A. It was an intense 2-year journey that took a \"village\" driven by knowing we were giving hope to the patients and their families!
