Strategy & Program Leader | Cell R&D | EV Batteries With a background from IIT Kharagpur (Engineering) & IIM Trichy (Management), I bring a blend of strategic leadership and technical depth, accelerating EV battery innovation at scale.At Ola Electric, I head Program Management for the Battery Innovation Center (BIC) — one of Asia’s most advanced lithium-ion cell R&D facilities — acting as the single point of contact and external face of Cell R&D. My role covers program strategy, cross-functional alignment, budget governance, and CEO-level reporting, ensuring technology development aligns with business and market needs.Since 2022, I have partnered with teams to establish the Battery Innovation Center from inception — collaborating with vendors, engineers, and compliance partners on construction, commissioning, and certifications. With Cell R&D leadership, I set up the program management framework, streamlining communication across 10+ cross-functional teams and enabling faster decisions.With Ola’s strategy team, I help shape the cell technology roadmap, bridging R&D with EV product needs. I also manage budgets, financial updates, and prepare weekly reviews for the CEO and leadership team, ensuring clarity on progress, risks, and mitigations.By working closely with technical experts, I built solid understanding of the cell development lifecycle — from cell design, drafting SORs, supplier onboarding, material screening, to defining promising systems. I also contribute to issue resolution at the Gigafactory during mass manufacturing setup & battery pack proto stage.Key Contributions- Partnered with teams and vendors to set up and commission the Battery Innovation Center and prototyping lines- Worked with strategy and R&D leaders to define Ola’s first cell technology roadmap- Supported Gigafactory stabilization and scale-up, ensuring smooth R&D-to-manufacturing transfer- Represent the Cell R&D function with regulators, suppliers, and partners.
