WORK HISTORY
Lead Software Engineer @Bloom & Wild
London, GB
I\'m currently an engineer in Bloom & Wild\'s new Domain Engineering squad. Domain Engineering has grown out of the need to shore up our technical foundations and build scalable, reusable architectural patterns to support our product engineers to deliver new features in our monolith with greater velocity and higher quality.Previously I was the Lead Software Engineer for Bloom & Wild\'s Range squad, looking after the internal tools used to set up our product range, including merchandising and stock management. I led the technical planning to support launching a new range of customisable products, requiring close coordination with other engineering leads across the business and implementing deep architectural changes in our Rails monolith and connecting systems to support the business goals.Prior to that, I was a Lead Full-Stack Engineer for Checkout & Payments squad, responsible for maintaining and developing the ecommerce purchase experience. In this role I led a project to build a new payment flow, allowing Bloom & Wild to take advantage of newer features from one of our payments providers, including enhanced security and fraud detection. The new version eliminated a wide class of legacy bugs in payments, follows best practices as defined by the payment provider, and contributed to 12+% YoY conversion improvement for the final step of checkout for our peak trading period around UK Mother\'s Day.
