Managing a high-performing team of seven, I am responsible for devising, leading, measuring and evaluating the charity’s PR, social media, stories and celebrity strategy. This is delivered by working alongside key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring objectives are aligned with the charity’s core pillars of activity. Whilst ensuring the effective running of the team, I also act as Marcomms lead across a range of key campaigns, driving success through highly organised, matrix working. Demonstrable successes include: • Launching hard-hitting policy report ‘Still ignored: The Fight for accessible healthcare’ which has given a voice to millions of disabled people being let down by the NHS, generating blanket national coverage and hundreds of supporter actions in response. • I led the flagship annual Deaf Awareness Week campaign. I built on previous successes and learnings to create a national campaign that has reached brand new audiences and driven thousands to sign up to a behaviour change initiative to reduce the marginalisation of deaf people and those with hearing loss.
