The People’s Lobby is a fast-growing, membership-driven organization devoted to organizing widespread support for public policies and candidates – including people from our communities – that put the needs of people and the planet before the interests of big corporations and the very rich. Achievements include:• Leading coalition and communications work for the March to Springfield for a People and Planet First Budget, a 15-day, 200-mile coalition event that broke through the media’s fixation on the budget feud between Michael Madigan and Bruce Rauner and generated more than 60 unique stories across the state about our people-centered budget proposal• Training volunteer leaders to pitch and talk to journalists• Training volunteer leaders to take control of Facebook, Twitter channels• Creating an array of print and video resources to promote leadership trainings, public meetings and direct actions • Redesigning the websites to clearly communicate the organizations’ missions and to capture data and money seamlessly through integration with the CRM• Saving the organization thousands of dollars annually while drastically increasing email acquisition by selecting a new customer relationship management tool, cleaning and moving existing data into the new CRM, and training staff on the new system
