ABOUT KRISTINA RHODES

Kristina Rhodes is a strategic communications professional with more than a decade of professional experience. She is currently working as a consultant for clients in the Portland area. She previously managed public relations and social media for Multnomah University. In this position, she coordinated all internal and external communications and served as the official spokesperson for the university. She built and strengthened relationships within the community, key stakeholders and members of the media. As community manager on all of the university\'s social media channels, she worked with the marketing department in an effort to re-brand the university and take it from a small and local Bible college to an international university. In addition to her experience as a freelancer, she worked for CMD, an integrated marketing agency as an account executive where she worked daily on strategic communications for Fortune 500 companies including Intel. During her time working for Senator Ron Wyden, she researched social media best practices in U.S. Senate press offices in 2010 and compiled a report. Shortly after her report was completed, the senator\'s office decided to adopt social media tools as a part of their daily communications in the press office. She holds a BA in Journalism and Communications with an emphasis in public relations from The University of Oregon. Specialties: Writing, editing, proofreading, researching, community management, media relations, traditional and new media content strategy and content production and knowledgeable of SEO best practices. I have experience using: Vocus, Radian6, Wordpress, Photoshop, Facebook, Twitter, Twitter applications (such as Tweetdeck) MS Word programs (including Movie Maker) and press release distribution with Cooler Email.
