Every Patient Deserves Their Own Equation!My research lab is a patient-centered fusion of expertise in computational modeling, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, cancer biology, informatics, cell biology, sex differences, radiology, and oncology. Our work has helped to pioneer the field of Mathematical Neuro-oncology generating robust patient-centered data to support new approaches to predict and personalize precision treatment choices and thus improve the lives of brain cancer patients. We achieve this through the development of patient-specific computational models ideally applied to routinely-acquired clinical or research imaging to generate accurate predictions of disease course and response to therapy in individual patients that can be used inform optimized therapy design. My 20+ years of experience in computation, cancer biology and oncology has only reinforced my passionate conviction that effective translational impacts of AI-computation to medicine requires robust training and development of bridge-crossing anti-disciplinary scientists who can effectively communicate and thrive at this diverse interface.
