ABOUT KRISHNA RATAKONDA

Technology executive with extensive expertise in building and operating enterprise grade Cloud, Analytics and AI solutions for many industries ranging from Retail and Healthcare to Financial Services. In my current role as a VP and CTO in IBM Cloud I am responsible for creating cloud services that accelerate adoption in the financial industry. Over the last 20+ years, I have lead data science teams in building big data analytics applications in a multi-cloud setting while tackling complex privacy and security challenges. These solutions were used to make operational decisions about financial products in insurance and banking, human resource development, IT project management and solving computationally hard operations research problems in manufacturing and retail. Examples of a first of a kind applications that we pioneered include Chef Watson (with coverage in NY Times and WSJ) and Cognitive Dress (with Marchesa) that brought AI techniques to creative pursuits. I pioneered the development of permissioned blockchain applications to transform food and supply chain industries (Food Trust and TradeLens received wide press coverage).
