ABOUT KIM PETTERSEN
I’ve been working in communications and branding for 18 years, after deciding that the legal profession wasn’t the right path for me. Since then, my experience has spanned the gamut from agency to nonprofit to corporate to start-up. The best way to get to know me is to skip down to the recommendations section at the bottom of my profile, but here are a few highlights. In the words of people I’ve worked with, I am a strategic visionary and doer, able to straddle the big picture and fine print details. I am a natural connector, collaborator and influencer with an authentic interpersonal style. I am a results-oriented problem solver who never shies away from a challenge. I am a mindful, conscious leader who models empathy and transparency. My happy place is the sweet spot between strategy and creative. I\'m comfortable speaking both languages, and over the years, I have found myself acting as an interpreter between these two worlds. I’m passionate about getting people to think differently and I’m really good at getting to the heart of the message. I’m at my best when collaborating with smart people to solve a problem that has a values-based impact. I feel very fortunate to be able to exercise these skills and passions in my current role at Connective, a fast-growing nonprofit that is making a difference for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
