ABOUT KEVIN SALMON

I have coming up to 25 years of experience as a landscape architect with expertise in the design, assessment, implementation, maintenance, and management of regeneration projects in the commercial, public, and private sectors, as well as major road and rail infrastructure. I have significant public realm project experience, including the recent £50 million \"Connected Gateway\" in Walsall and the forthcoming £1.5 million redesign of Tipton Town Centre. I also have experience of NSIPS including the dualling of the A21 from Tonbridge to Pembury. The work required the design, EIA, and delivery from PCF Stage 0 through to handover and the translocation of ancient woodland stools, as well as creating bat hop-overs, wildlife ponds, scrapes, high oak woodland, fungal banks, SRG and high acid heathland. All within the context of the High Weald National Landscape ancient woodlands, protected moorlands, EPS, heritage and archaeological assets, and the RSPB’s Tudeley Woods reserve. On HS2, I was a part of the WSP JV with Laing Murphy. Early works packages included enabling and mitigation. I worked on more than sixty sites across the N1 and N2, designated Work Package 21. I also contributed to the upgrade of Birmingham\'s Lawley Middleway and the planned restoration of the Grade I Old Curzon Street Station and in the highest value scheme in N1, the Birmingham Interchange Station Triangle (BIS). With a budget of over £50 million, the BIS will provide access to the new HS2 station in Solihull and enhance the surrounding road network, including the M42, A45, and other routes servicing south Birmingham, the NEC, Birmingham Airport, Birmingham Business Park, and the Packington Estate. In the residential sector I have worked countless schemes from promotion to construction on site. Typically this includes the securing of reserved matters consent such as for a 300-unit residential scheme by DWH in Macclesfield. This involved an addendum to the ES LVIA, a landscape strategy and LEAP. I am also well versed in the procurement and delivery of ecological and arboricultural surveys, AVR\'s, engaging with key stakeholders and local authority officers. Recent experience in PBSA and BTR includes working on the £49 million project, ‘The Boulevards,’ landscape scheme on Bristol Street in Birmingham. This 278-unit scheme, will feature podium gardens and is set for completion in 2025. The landmark ‘Perryian Works\', project opposite Lancaster Circus will see the construction of 1,600 units and high-profile public space in a gateway location on the northern edge of Birmingham.
